the people who see how it all connects

nineteen practitioners begin ten months of systems leadership together, drawn by a shared commitment to complex work and the places they care about

on february 5th, we began our journey with the third cohort of the systems leadership program. nineteen unique and incredible individuals, spread across government agencies, peak bodies, community organizations, and consulting practices for the first of many sessions.

some have been working in systems for years, others have just found language for what they've been doing all along. some hold senior titles, but many don't. what they share is a commitment to the people and places they care about, deep care for the complexity of the challenges they navigate, and the recognition that this work requires a different kind of leadership capacity.

there's the person working at the intersection of child protection and family support, navigating the tensions inherent in that space. there is another building coordination across multiple services in Aboriginal communities. another is introducing systems thinking into contexts where it's still emerging, and a fourth bridging different ways of thinking and practice. so common amongst them is the commitment to closing the gap between what is, and what could be.

what they bring into our shared space is such heart, courage, imagination, and the kind of passion that keeps them showing up to do this work well.

they're not looking for hero's journeys or breakthrough solutions. they're seeking companionship with others who see the deep connections - how housing connects to mental health connects to child protection connects to community wellbeing - and who understand that this way of seeing requires particular skills and support. they're seeking a space where their unique way of seeing the world is valuable, where there's no competition for being right, but where collective wisdom emerges from diverse perspectives.

over the next ten months they'll practice together: developing inner capacity alongside practical application, learning across diverse wisdom traditions including First Nations knowledge, peer coaching through real challenges they're navigating right now. this is systems leadership that leans inward before outward - to sustain us, so we can continue working effectively with complexity.
